Empowering Communities Through Food Independence
The Sparrows Basket is a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating hunger in Levy, Gilchrist, and Dixie counties through food distribution and education on sustainable food practices.
"Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness." 2 Corinthians 9:10 NIV
Feeding Those in Need
We provide support and resources to feed families in Levy, Gilchrist, and Dixie counties.
Food Distribution Services
We distribute food locally and nationally to those in need of assistance.
Food Independence Education
We assist families in growing and preserving food for self-sufficiency and independence.
Freeze-Dried Food Supply
We aim to obtain and freeze dry food for local and national distribution.

Community Support
Helping feed those in need across Levy, Gilcrest, and Dixie.
Food Preservation
We assist families in learning to preserve food to improve food independence by providing classes locally. These classes include Canning and Freeze Drying, etc.
Food Distribution
Our mission includes freeze-drying food for local and national distribution in the future when we obtain the facilities to do so.
Garden Assistance
We assist people starting a garden by providing container gardens to those in need locally. Container gardens consist of 8 containers with plants.
Seed Distribution
We assist families in need by supplying seed packets anywhere in the United States. Seed packets consist of 8 common vegetables.
